When it rains.... then it rains!

It's been raining for days now; can hardly go out and enjoy the holidays. For the past few days I've spent most of the time in this four-by-four crib; hitting the bed, watching movies I've bought, munching chips, surfing them social networking sites, playing old-school PC games like NBA Live 2006 and Counter-Strike 1.6... oh yeah!

It's getting boring in here and so I've contacted my buddies to have drinking sessions but all of them declined because of this weekend-holiday rains. Deym, I wanna take my clothes off and go dance with the rain. But my name is not Rain.

When it rains it pours. So is somebody out there up for a walk under the rain?

Here are some random fun things that hit my mind, things to do when it rains:

-Go out and walk under the rain and try to talk to anyone who is using an umbrella if you can share with him or her. (Well this could be a way for you to meet the person for your life.)

-Make money! Join those kids wiping car windows on the streets especially where traffic is heavy.

-Hit an open basketball court and play ball; this could be a good practice.

-Just run! Brace yourself for a 1K-2K run or jog. It would be better if you do this at a mountain trail. Get muddy and dirty!

-Or just stand under the rain with arms wide open looking up feeling the raindrops on your face.

Well then it's really up to you on what ya' gonna do. If you're just gonna sit there playing around your facebook then so be it. Just be careful in any way. For me it would be a rainy-day shopping.

Allergy Attack Prevented

And so I visited the doctor yesterday just after my work to get an opinion regarding the sudden attack of allergy on me. Consulted a professional at St. Luke's Medical Center and was informed about the possible causes of the allergy. The doctor claimed that she cannot determine what might have caused the allergy since the rashes on my body are gone; thanks to the anti-histamine. So the doctor is somewhat asking for an evidence ey; hmmmm. Anyways, I respect what the doctor said; I'll just be more careful and observant next time. It could have been the food that I've eaten (or it could be an ingredient of that food).

Here's a little research I've done regarding skin allergy (copy & paste):

What is a skin allergy? A skin allergy is a reaction caused by a substance that comes in contact with the skin, thus a skin allergy. Some types of contact skin allergies are dermatitis, eczema and hives. Contact dermatitis develops when the skin comes in contact with something that a person is allergic to. A reaction to skin allergies may cause a redness or even swelling, stinging, burning or blisters and yes, itching.

Skin Allergies are one of the most prevalent causes of skin conditions. Generally, they are caused by an immune system which becomes hypersensitive after exposure to certain substances which it recognizes as harmful. As a result of this exposure, the body's immune system releases huge amounts of antibodies to combat these "supposedly" harmful substances. The release of these immune cells may then cause an adverse reaction in other cells within the body.

The major symptom of skin allergy are hives, rashes, swelling, itching which may includes one or more physical signs like dry skin and it results in cracking of the skin. The hands, face, arms and neck are the common areas affected by skin allergies as are exposed usually every day.

Nevertheless, it's always a good thing to check the doctor especially if you are covered by a healthcare insurance; maximize the privilege, to say.

Way to go Maxicare! :)

Allergy Attacks

Yesterday just after hitting my place coming from work I had a little itchy feeling on my back; but I've just ignored it. After about an hour the itch had spread like an epidemic conquering my upper body; my back, sides of my body, neck and face. An allergy attack!!! I really don't know what brought that allergy to me. I know it's not what I ate that day or what I drank. There was no insect bite either. Was it skin asthma? I really don't know.

So I did put some anti-allergy or anti-itch cream on the affected areas, had some sleep, and it got a little better.

A little?

Well, I had the allergy-attack again earlier. It was so itchy that it's like tempting me to scratch 'em all; I did not of course. Beside from the itchiness it had also brought out heat, so hot but I didn't wanna take my clothes off. Deym!

Since I'm at work I decided to check our company nurses. Them nurses didn't even have the effort to look at the allergy; they were just sitting there on their thrones playing their cellphones while I was trying to get help from them. Now that's what I call work! Oh yeah!

They've just handed me over a tablet of Loratadine (Allerta) after maybe hearing the word 'allergy'. Very nice.

Well I believe I'm not the only employee complaining about those nurses, I know there's a lot.

Well the medicine did a little help of getting rid of the allergy rashes but what I want to know is how and why I had it. The best thing then is to visit the doctor. Yah, a doctor with the "pee-eytch dot dee", know I'm saying?

Gonna hit the road then.

Change

Today I decided to change the looks of this blog.

Black and bold.
Red and gold.

I am iKalinga; those colors represent not only my preference but also myself and what I stand for. Proud to be and will always be iKalinga.

I hope this change will be a good start for me to have a regular post in this site. I will have to manage my time well; that's something I've overlooked for the past few years. Time-management for most aspects in my life; I know this is not a late start.

Well a change is always a turning point but we should not ignore where we came from.

GOD bless us all.

Suspected Gout

I didn't play ball.
I didn't hit the track.
I didn't do acrobats.
I didn't fall.

No.

Not those and yet my left foot is giving me severe pain.
About four days ago I was setting up this new desktop we just purchased when all of a sudden I felt a piercing pain on my left foot, you know that thing we feel after a heavy object is dropped directly to it; but I've just ignored it hoping that it would just go away immediately. I even went to work. Sigh.

I was wrong.

The next day, the pain became worse; I can hardly walk, even just to stand, the pain is unbearable; realy!
I've decided then to visit the doctor and after telling her my story she immediately wrote the prescription same time shook her head; believe me I was worried about that reaction. She then handed me over the papers; diagnosis says 'suspected gout'. Gout?! Whatta!!!

What's happening with my system? What have I been eating for me to have this sudden and painful sickness?

Well this is not yet confirmed for I was not able to see the lab results; they've drawn out blood to check my system's uric acid. Lab results will be out on Friday. Hopefully this is just a sprain that I haven't noticed it occurred so that after it I can play ball, hit the track, do acrobats without doing the fall.
